THE MYSTERIES OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD BELONG TO YOU

“He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”—Matthew 13:11

God’s truths are hidden for His children, not from them.  He has given to us His mysteries, which are those truths that can only be understood by His children.  Only born-again believers can receive divine revelation to know how the kingdom of God operates.

God wants all people to enter and to enjoy His kingdom.  He has given an open invitation to everyone to receive the spiritual rebirth that entitles them to the revelation of these mysteries of the kingdom.  “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (I Corinthians 2:14).  For you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, they must be spiritually discerned.  Therefore, whoever rejects Jesus; rejects the source of wisdom and knowledge.  “In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3).

The Scriptures instruct us we are to understand God’s wisdom through His Spirit.  Satan and his imps cannot understand God’s wisdom because it is spiritually discerned.  They are spiritually dead, and God has hidden His wisdom from them.  God reveals what He has prepared for you by His Spirit.  You cannot receive this information if you are spiritually lazy and undiscerning.  The Scripture clearly explains that it is through the Holy Spirit teaching us by comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  When an individual does not continue to grow in revelation, he or she will eventually lose whatever truth they have and go into deception.  God reveals His truths to us in stages, not all at once “Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept. Line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little” (Isaiah 28:9-10).

In this passage of Scripture (Matthew 13:11-23), Jesus spoke about those who have revelation knowledge of the mysteries of God.  They will receive even more revelation and will walk in the abundant life He provided.  As you walk in the revelation of what the Lord has already shown to you, He will reveal more of His truths to you.  The truths of God are mysterious only to those who do not soften their hearts by seeking Him with their whole hearts.  As Jeremiah 29:13 says, “And you will seek Me, and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart.”
Prayer—Father I ask you to stir My Spirit to seek You will all of my heart so that I can understand the mysteries of Your kingdom that You have prepared for me, in Jesus Name. Amen.
